Merinda Davies’ practice explores speculative futures. She is dedicated to investigating how many might thrive within ecological collapse, and heroes the sensory experience as the intelligence that underpins relationships with humans and other beings. Within this, Davies encourages relational thinking and feeling with the more-than-human world. Collaborating with plants, Davies creates multi-species sites for softening landscapes, re-membering plants and soil as co-conspirators and active participants in cityscapes. In this context, she considers apocalypse as a portal for emergence, a place to imagine an alternative future to the one we are hurtling towards.
